**Large Sewage Suction Truck Operation Guide: Pre-Job Checks, Suction, Discharge and Maintenance**
2026.01.26
This video provides a practical introduction to the operation of a sewage suction truck, explaining the key steps for both suction and discharge work. Before starting, operators should check that the water tank level is within the normal range and refill if necessary. They must also ensure all valves and the rear cover are closed, then connect the suction hose securely and open the pipeline valve. After starting the engine, the operator engages the clutch, activates two power take-offs (PTOs), shifts to third gear, and turns the four-way valve to begin suction. During operation, the pressure gauge should be monitored to ensure it stays within the safe working range.
Once suction is complete, the four-way valve and PTOs are closed, the gear is returned to neutral, and the pipeline valve is shut before removing the suction hose. For discharging, the discharge hose is connected, the valve is opened, and the tank is emptied. Afterward, the valve is closed, the hose is removed, and the rear cover is opened by loosening the locking bolts and lifting the cover and tank body to clean out any remaining waste. Finally, the tank and cover are lowered and secured.
The video also highlights important maintenance tips, such as weekly greasing of fittings, changing hydraulic oil after the first month of use, monthly bolt checks, and regular inspections of the rear cover seal to ensure safe and reliable operation.
